Men speak the unspeakable logo

Testimonials

“I skimmed through the book today. It’s so dense and so, so personal. At worst, we should feel like a voyeur, at the same time getting a “Ah-ha… so that’s what it’s about…” But hey, what do I know about blokes merely being blokes?”
- Anita Roddick (founder, The Body Shop)

“This is a modern, raw and authentic story that takes the reader inside the heart and mind of a unique man.”
– Dr William Bloom (writer, broadcaster, teacher) Glastonbury

“Direct, frank, challenging, absorbing conversation between two men of today’s world breaking taboos which have kept us in check for far too long. Good cage-rattling stuff for the puritans if they have ears to hear; and mind-stretching for the rest of us.”
- Dominic Stuart (3rd Viscount of Findhorn)

“Men Speak…” is a caustically honest and brave account of the insecurities and trials we all face as men today. Its honesty and gentle humour, interlaced with a kaleidoscope of wisdom, is unique. Reading it feels like sitting with your mates and having a conversation on a level of honesty reaching terminal velocity. “Men Speak…” gives us, as men, the courage to feel, the courage to be, and the courage to express: all vital qualities if we are to triumph over the forces of conformity and finally slay the dragon “Thou Shalt” embodying everything blocking us from freedom. “Men Speak…” is not a book, it is an experience. Most critically it opens a door of communication long overdue.”
- Zephyr Bloch-Jorgensen (author, ‘Freedom’s Way’)

“I have just finished the book. Its truthfulness, honesty, depth and compassion have been moving and revealing for me. I’ve grown with it and I’ve changed with it. I would never have imagined the book would finish the way it did. I was almost shocked and although I tried hard, I couldn’t help crying (on the Tube!). The book is amazing.”
- Angelica (28) London

“I got to page 5 and my belly was aching, and by page 6 I couldn’t get up off the floor. Beautiful. And also some very touching moments after that. It’s good to know that other men went through similar angst – ‘Is my knob different?’ etc. How would you know?!”
- Peter (42) Dublin

“It was a privilege to read this, Thank you. I’ve read a lot of ‘men’s books’ in my work as a therapist, but never have I come across anything so honest and revealing, and it all makes so much more sense now.”
- Simone (52) London

“Finished it in an afternoon and an evening. Don’t care too much for the New-Agey stuff or the male thing that’s going on (although it may be true etc.), BUT it’s confirmed and crystallized a lot that I worked on in psychotherapy over the past few years. I’m in there too, along with others that you have heard from, I’m sure…”

– Pete, Oxford

“Hey! I’m reading your book! And guess what? Just had an amazing feeling of one-ness and understanding for people! Wonderful! This book is bound to change lives!”
- Anita (29) Poland

“You’ve saved me a lot if painful and embarrassing mistakes, but I reckon therapists are going to have a field day with you.”
- Henry (22) Hertfordshire

“Once I started, I sat with it ‘til I’d finished. I began to understand my sons, and my brother, though my husband is still a total mystery! I had no idea…”
- Deborah (40) Essex

“It’s given me hope, as someone on a ’spiritual pathway’. So I am allowed to seek enlightenment and have a dick and use it!”
- Jeremy (33) Devon

“It was a lot meatier than you’d imagine a conversation could be. I stayed up til 4am reading it!”
- Sally (26) London

“As the Father of a son of roughly this age, I felt quite horrified and saddened in places, by what men do with their frustrations and confusions.”
- James (69) Cheltenham

“It’s a beautiful book, about two unfolding souls.”
- Arthur (55) Somerset

“It’s not really a book, is it? It lacks the craft of writing…”
- Elspeth (33) Devon

“How brave of you. I’m not sure, with the best will in the world, I could be so honest with my child when I have one (which I plan to soon). My whole family was based on secrets and lies, period.”
- Janice (35) London

“I’ve never really understood my relationship with my Father, my place in the family, and have doubted my own sexuality for no particular reason, apart from maybe being a bit of a Mummy’s-boy myself. It’s beginning to make sense now.”
- Keith (27) Brighton

“I don’t read books, but I read this from cover to cover. But this wasn’t like reading a book. And I thought I was fucked up!”
- Darren (29) London

“Transcripts of conversations about life, the universe, everything, and sex, between the authors, uncut, uncensored; disorganised but fascinating!” – The Inner Bookshop, Oxford

“I’d like you to write a book all about living with OCD to carry on where this book leaves off. I wonder if your parents have read this?”
- Nicky (37) London

“A book EVERY man & woman should read !!!, 20 April 2006 When I picked up this book I found it impossible to put down ! Every chapter provides massive insight into the REAL workings of the male psyche and emotions… The totally upfront disclosures made me laugh, cry, blush, contemplate and regurgitate my life thus far ! And, soooo importantly, it made me want to re-wind my life so I could start it again with the new-found wisdom that the Elias/Seeker duo have provided me with !!! It took me a while to get into the dialogue format (and there’s many naughty words) but any struggle I had with the format was way surpassed by the wit, wisdom, truths and balls that this book repeatedly thwacks you with ! Without a shadow of a doubt, every woman that has ever struggled to comprehend how the male mind works should buy a copy !!! And every man that is buried deep in fear & denial NEEDS a copy to help them realise that their thoughts, fears and fantasies ARE pretty standard…lol Well done chaps !!! Will we have another chapter & verse in the future ??? Oh I do soooo hope so as I think the next instalment will be critical for those in mid-to-old-age crisis !!! THANKYOU for such a fantastic humourous insight into ‘male reality’ x From a grateful female whose life has been changed by Men Speak the Unspeakable.”
